MOLINE, Ill. - Chase Lang scored twice as the host Quad City Mallards (32-22-3) ripped off six unanswered goals on the way to a 6-1 victory over the Indy Fuel (15-37-5) Saturday night.

The Mallards broke the game open with three second period goals. Lang's tip-in stretched the 2-1 lead the Mallards held after one period to 3-1 at 9:33 of the second. At 13:08, Brady Brassart- who also had an assist- deflected Mike Wilson's blue blast in under the cross bar to widen the gap to 4-1. Grant Arnold completed the second period onslaught by burying Kevin Gibson's centering pass at 18:51.

Lang capped off the win when he tipped in the sixth Mallard goal from the doorstep at 9:03 of the third period.

The Mallard goal rush only started after the Fuel took a 1-0 lead when Nick Bligh's centering pass was deflected home one minute and 32 seconds into the game. Chris Francis pounced on a rebound to even the score at 13:57 of the first period. Josh MacDonald broke the tie by jamming in another rebound with just 33 seconds left in the first.
