Moline, IL â The Mallards improved to 16-15-7 this week with wins over Missouri and Elmira and a pair of shootout losses to Kalamazoo. The win over Missouri featured the biggest Mallards crowd of the season (5,702) for Credit Union Night. The Mallards are now unbeaten in their last six games (3-0-3) and just six points back of Missouri (with two games in hand) for third in the Western Division.

The Mallards host Family Fun Day Sunday on January 23rd vs. Muskegon. The ice at The MARK will be available for an open skate from 1:15-2:00 p.m. The Mallards face-off with the Fury at 3:00 p.m.
· Saturday, January 29th vs. the Flint Generals-Casino Rock Island Voodoo Doll Giveaway.
Casino Rock Island Voodoo Dolls are back at The MARK as the Flint Generals come to the Quad Cities. The first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive a Voodoo Doll.
· Sunday, January 30th vs. the Rockford IceHogs-Family Fun Day Sunday
Family Fun Day returns to The MARK on January 30th vs. Rockford. Fans are invited down to the ice for a pre-game skate from 1:15 p.m.-2:00 p.m. before the Mallards take on the Hogs at 3:00 p.m.

The Mallards most intense rivalry of the season continues on Wednesday at The MARK. The Mallards and Hogs haven't met in over a month, but it shouldn't take long for the All-Illinois Rivalry to heat up again.

The Mallards and Generals have met three times this season with each contest requiring a shootout. The fourth meeting is set for this Friday in Flint.
· Sunday, January 23rd vs. the Muskegon Fury
The Mallards host the Fury for the second time this season. Quad City shutout Mukegon at The MARK on November 21st as Jeff Reynaert stopped all 37 shots he faced while the Mallards scored twice.

The Mallards and Generals play for the fourth time this season on Friday in Flint. The first three meetings all required a shootout. The Mallards lost 3-2 in extra frames the last time the teams met on January 8th in Flint.

The Mallards and Fury face-off for the third time this season on Sunday in Quad City. The Mallards shutout the Fury 2-0 the last time Muskegon visited The MARK on November 21st.

Wednesday, January 12th-Kalamazoo 2 at Quad City 1-Shootout
The Mallards fell 2-1 in a shootout Wednesday night against Kalamazoo. It marked the third straight contest in which extra frames were necessary for the Mallards. The Wings took a 1-0 lead at 8:37 of the second period on a shorthanded goal by Tim Turner. The Mallards countered late in the third. On a 5-on-3 power play, Joe Dusbabek scored his fifth goal of the season and second in as many games. In the shootout, both teams netted two goals through the first five rounds. In the first round of sudden death, Yannick Carpentier scored for Kalamazoo and the Mallards were unable to respond.
Friday, January 14th-Missouri 2 at Quad City 3
On Credit Union Night, the biggest crowd of the season (5,702) watched as the Mallards beat Missouri 3-2 at The MARK of the Quad Cities. Missouri's Chris Bell opened the scoring at 7:34 of the first period. Bell's goal was his ninth of the year. Three minutes later, Patrick Nadeau evened the game with his fourth goal of the year. The goal was Nadeau's 103rd as a Mallard. Alex Mathieu added his first goal in the Quad Cities at 13:48 of the period to give the Mallards a 2-1 lead. In the second, Missouri's Barrie Moore scored a shorthanded goal to tie the game at two. Les Borsheim scored the only goal of the third period to win the game for the Mallards. Borsheim's first goal as a Mallard came at the 5:08 mark of the period and earned the defenseman first star honors.
Saturday, January 15th-Elmira 2 at Quad City 4
The Mallards jumped on the Jackals early taking a 2-0 lead on goals by Mike Kompon and Justin Brown in the game's first ten minutes. The Jackals cut the lead in half on a marker by Jamie Thompson before the first period ended. In the second, Patrick Nadeau scored the period's only goal to stake the Mallards to a 3-1 lead. In the third period, the Jackals battled back to cut the Mallards lead to one on a goal by Darren Van Oene. Following Van Oene's goal, the Mallards defense stiffened before Jason Deskins secured the game with an empty net goal at 19:47 of the third.
Player of the Week
Joe Dusbabek was the Mallards nominee for UHL Player of the Week. Dusbabek recorded a goal and three assists in three games this weekend.
Goaltender of the Week
Robert Gherson is the Mallards nominee for UHL Goaltender of the Week. Gherson stopped 55 of 59 shots while going 2-0-0 over the weekend.
