Fermoyle Rejoins Mallards

Moline, IL-Quad City Mallards President and General Manager Howard Cornfield today announced that defenseman Andy Fermoyle has signed with the team as a free agent. Fermoyle rejoins the Mallards after playing 36 games with Topeka of the Central League to begin the season. During his time in Topeka, Fermoyle recorded six points (all assists) and 41 penalty minutes.

The 6-foot-2, 202 pound blueliner has played 243 in a Mallards sweater. He has won two Tarry Cups (UHL regular season championship) and a Colonial Cup (UHL post-season championship) during his time with the team. He is the second longest tenured Mallards on the 2004-05 roster behind only Patrick Nadeau.

Fermoyle has 14 professional goals (all scored with the Mallards) and 78 assists for 94 career points. He recorded career highs in all offensive categories in 2001-02 when he scored five goals with 23 assists for 28 points with the Mallards. Fermoyle appeared in five American League games over the last two seasons with the Chicago Wolves and Portland Pirates.

The Mallards are back on home ice on Wednesday for a game with the Rockford IceHogs. Game time is 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available at The MARK box office or via phone at (563) 326-1111.
