Madison, Wis. - The Madison Mallards (5-0) claimed their fifth consecutive victory Sunday evening, defeating the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (2-3) by a final score of 11-2 at Witter Field. Madison's offense erupted for five runs in the top of the first inning and didn't look back, eventually finishing with 12 hits - four for extra-bases - en route to the win.

Jake Roberts (Yakima Valley CC) helped fuel Madison's offensive outburst, going 1-for-3 with two runs scored, two runs batted in and a pair of walks. Anthony Gonsolin (St. Mary's College) contributed with a 2-for-4 batting line that included a double, two runs batted in and one stolen base, while Chris Tschida (Western Illinois) doubled on his way to a 2-for-5 effort at the dish with two runs batted in.

Dalton D'Spain (Texas A&M Corpus Christi) received his first start of the season Sunday evening, logging 3.2 innings of shutout ball on four hits, one walk and seven strikeouts. Josh Pierce (Central Michigan), Fred Manke (Minnesota), Scott Moss (Florida) and Tyler Frohwirth (Minnesota State) combined to allow just one earned run with four strikeouts across 5.1 strong innings out of the bullpen.

The Mallards will return to the Duck Pond on Wednesday, June 3 against the Green Bay Bullfrogs on Joey's Song Epilepsy Awareness Night. There will be a pre-game skydiving and tandem skydive giveaway presented by Great Lakes Skydiving, with Mallards players wearing purple jerseys to be auctioned off during the game.
