
Malcolm Thomas Returns to D-Fenders

EL SEGUNDO - The Los Angeles D-Fenders have reacquired forward Malcolm Thomas, it was announced today.
Thomas, a 6-9, 230 pound forward out of San Diego State University, most recently played for Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel from October 2012 to February 2013. A two-time NBA GATORADE Call-Up from the D-Fenders, Thomas played for the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets in 2011-12 along with their NBA Development League affiliates, the Austin Toros and Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Named to the All-NBA D-League First Team, All-NBA D-League Defensive First Team, and All-NBA D-League Rookie First Team, Thomas averaged 13.4 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in 25 games last season. Additionally, Thomas averaged 17.9 points and 12.3 rebounds in seven NBA D-League playoff games with the D-Fenders.
A standout at San Diego State, Thomas helped lead the Aztecs to an NCAA Sweet 16 appearance during his senior season, averaging 11.4 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in 30.4 minutes. After just two seasons at San Diego State, Thomas concluded his career with the Aztecs as the school's second leading shot blocker of all-time while ranking eighth all-time in both rebound average and field goal percentage.
