Sanford, ME - Nick Poore (Boston College) got the start in game two of the double-header against Vermont. The Mainers answered back in the bottom of the second with a 1 out single to right field by Matt Pagano. Sam Dexter (So. Maine) got a base knock to center field moving Pagano to second and Kendall Patrick (Michigan) was hit-by-pitch for the league leading 11th time this season to load the bases. The Mainers made it count on a sac-fly RBI by Matt Harris bringing home Pagano to tie it up after two innings.

Poore worked a scoreless top 3rd, then the Mainers bats brought 7 batters to the plate in the bottom of the 3rd driving in two runs to take a 3-to-1 lead. Drake Parker (Vadnerbilt) led off with a bunt single, Nick Lovullo (Holy Cross) reached on an infield single, Caden Bailey (Georgia State) moved Parker to third and Lovullo to second on a perfectly executed sac bunt and Cory Raley (Texas Tech) brought both Parker and Lovullo home on a line drive single to left field giving the Mainers a 2 run lead.

The skies opened up and rain began to fall at Goodall Park postponing action until Thursday (7/31) with first pitch of the continuation in the top of the 4th inning set for 4:30 pm. Cody Dube (Keene State College) was brought in to start the continuation of Monday's game, working 3 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 earned run with 3 strike outs with no walks.

The Mainers did not plate a run, but used another save from Cam Hatch (8) to secure a 3-2 victory and defeat the Mountaineers for the first time this season. Sanford clinches second place in the NECBL Northern Division with the win.
