
Mainers finish strong in come from behind win!

Sanford Mainers News Release
The Sanford Mainers were looking to defeat the Keene Swamp Bats for the 2nd time in a week and tonight's game began just like last Tuesday's, the offense was slow to get going and Keene was the first team to get on the board.
In the bottom of the 5th inning the Swamp Bats notched two runs to take a 2-0 lead over the Mainers, but immediately following in the top of the 6th inning the Moose figured out starting pitcher Dominic Severino to the tune of two runs of their own, Sam Balzano walked, Sam Dexter doubled to right field moving Balzano to third, Caden Baily sacrificed home Balzano making the score 2-1 Swamp Bats.
Sam Dexter came trotting home on another sacrifice fly this time from the bat of Dan Hetzel tying the score at 2-2. The Mainers did not look back from there, adding 2 more in the top of the 7th as Sam Dexter drove home two more runs in Cory Raley and Nick Lovullo. Sanford capped off their second win in a row with one more run in both the 8th and 9th to defeat the Swamp Bats 6-2.
The Mainers totaled 10 hits, Sam Dexter drove home his first two RBI's of the season finishing his day 2 for 5, Drake Parker went 1 for 4, Sam Balzano scored a run and finished 1 for 4, Kendall Patrick hit two solid line drives and finished 2 for 4 walking once and Matt Rabbito was stellar swinging the bat going 2 for 2 before being replaced by a pinch runner in the top of the 7th.
Cam Hatch earned the win after working a solid 1 and 1/3 innings striking out 2. Jeff Singer was let down by two early errors but had a good day from the rubber tossing 4.2 innings while allowing just 1 earned run and fanning 4 batters. Jacob Marks came in and got the hold tossing one inning, and Ryan Johnson was impressive completing the save in two innings with 3 strikeouts, Johnson now has 7 strikeouts in two appearances this season.
The Mainers improve to 4-2 overall and will head to Montpelier, Vermont to face the Mountaineers, Christian Lavoie is expected to get the start for the Moose.
