Mahomes To Pitch On Saturday Night

SIOUX FALLS, SD (June 13, 2007) - Former Major Leaguer and reigning American Association Pitcher of the Week, Pat Mahomes, will take the mound for the Canaries on Saturday Night at Sioux Falls Stadium in a game against the St. Paul Saints.

In six starts this season, Mahomes is 5-0 on the season with a 1.83 ERA. The one-time Minnesota Twin is currently second in the league in wins, third in ERA, and fourth in strikeouts with 33.

Saturday night's start will be the second start Mahomes has made at the Birdcage this season. In his first home start, Mahomes struck out five St. Joe Blacksnakes on May 31 while allowing only one unearned run in eight innings in the Canaries 9-2 victory.

This Saturday night at the Birdcage will be "Cap Giveaway Night" presented by Modern Woodman of America. Canaries caps will be given away to the first 500 fans of all ages.
