Magicians Pull Three Game Hat Trick
December 5, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Birmingham Magicians News Release
Birmingham Al... The Birmingham Magicians completed a three game winning streak against the Charlotte Krunk in Charlotte, this past Friday night with a 99-91 victory at Cricket Arena. The Magicians with only seven players were able to defeat a very talented Charlotte team despite being a hour late and getting off the bus in uniform and playing after a 7 hour drive because of traffic in Atlanta. The Magicians were led in scoring by former Auburn star, Mack McGadney with 20 points following by Marcus Doss, Derrick Williams and Desmond Cambridge with 16 pts each. The Magicians were coached by assistant coaches, Albert Owens and Anthony Toney. Head Coach Jim Farmer missed the game due to a prior commitment.
Prior to the game in Charlotte, the Birmingham ABA team defeated the Atlanta Vision in back to back home games 76-66 and 85-80 at Fair Park Arena last week. The three game winning streak moves the Magicians into first place in the Marvin Barnes division of the ABA with a 4-2 record.
The Birmingham Magicians return home, Sunday, Dec. 11th to play the Nashville Rhythm at 4pm at Fair Park Arena. The previously scheduled Sat. Dec. 10th home game against Charlotte has been moved to Atlanta for a special ABA double-header and to avoid a conflict with the SWAC Championship game.
