
Magicians introduce Shoot Baskets Not Bullets

Birmingham, AL. The ABA Birmingham Magicians professional basketball team and the City of Birmingham's Division of Youth Services is partnering with the Depart of Justice, Weed & Seed, and UAB to offer a FREE Shoot Baskets Not Bullets Anti-Violence Awareness Basketball Camp for youth from 7-16 years old. The camp will provide a safe and positive environment for youth to listen, lean and have lots of fun! The Division of Youth Services will be registering 150 youth of the Shoot Baskets Not Bullets Anti-Violence Camp. The DYS office is located at 808 North 18th Street in downtown Birmingham. Registration is open through March 30th.
This unique two-day camp will consist of a Lock-In at the UABA campus on Friday, April 7th. Youth participating in the Lock-In will be required to bring a sleeping bag and pillow. Then, on Saturday, April 8th, camp participants will take part in a special Basketball Clinic. All meals will be provided (i.e., dinner on Friday and breakfast and lunch on Saturday). Campers should come prepared to be respectful and display good behavior. Appropriate athletic attire will be required. Parents may register their children for both days or just for the Basketball Clinic on Saturday.
