Magic Guards Gain Win over Grand Rapids
March 5, 2023 - NBA G League (G League)
Osceola Magic News Release
The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, defeat the Grand Rapids Gold at home in a 110-98 point victory on Sunday night.
Jay Scrubb led Lakeland with 26 points, Kevon Harris had 19 points, and Zavier Simpson had 21 points. All three guards had impressive performances while complimenting their teammates in a push for a playoff spot.
"We have to play aggressively from the jump and take care of the ball. We have to play on both ends of the court and with a chip on our shoulder," Harris said.
"We want to make the playoffs, we have to come out and handle our business. I love this team, we come out every game with our best efforts and know how to complement each other."
Peyton Watson led Grand Rapids with 22 points and seven assists. Bryce Wills had a double-double collecting 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Gold.
The Lakeland Magic (12-11) will face the Wisconsin Herd, on Tuesday, March 7 in Orlando at 10:30 AM on ESPN+.
