The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, defeat the College Park Skyhawks 131-116 on Saturday at the Gateway Center Arena.

The Magic opened the game with authority, going on a nine - two run with a 10-point lead at the 8:24 mark. Skyhawks guard Langston Galloway had an impressive first quarter with 11 points on five of six shooting. Zavier Simpson helped the Magic catch fire, scoring 12 first-quarter points and dishing out four assists. Lakeland led at the end of the first 42-25.

The Magic continued to build on their lead during the second quarter. Aleem Ford scored nine points in the second quarter, shooting a perfect three-of-three beyond the arc. Magic led 67-54 at the end of the first half.

The third quarter was all Skyhawks while forward Tyrese Martin shot five of six from the field scoring 12 points. The Skyhawks had cut the 13-point lead to just three. The Magic maintained their lead 91-88 at the end of the third.

Lakeland put their foot on the gas in the fourth quarter and never looked back. Despite the Skyhawk's best efforts, they had no answers for the Magic. The Magic finished the game 131-116.

The Magic had three players finish with double-doubles. Zavier Simpson had 25 points, 16 assists, and seven rebounds. Simi Shittu had 21 points and 15 rebounds. Robert Baker II had a career-high 25 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks off the bench. Aleem Ford had a game-high 30 points. "We only had seven players available tonight, I had the chance to make the most of my minutes. Coach told us to make positive plays and stay connected on the floor," Baker said.

Tyrese Martin had a team-high 22 points for the Skyhawks.
