
Magic Fall to Skyhawks

The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, fall to the College Park Skyhawks 124-96 on Saturday at the Gateway Center Arena.
The Skyhawks opened the game with total dominance in the first few minutes, leading by 10 points at the 9:43 mark. Magic big man Simi Shittu had an impressive first quarter with six points and three rebounds. Jarrett Culver helped the Skyhawks catch fire scoring eight first-quarter points, College Park led at the end of the first 26-22.
The Skyhawks continued to build on their lead during the second quarter. Brandon Williams put on a clinic scoring nine points in the second quarter on a perfect three-of-three shooting. Skyhawks led 63-51 at the end of the first half.
The third quarter was all Skyhawks while guard Armoni Brooks shot three of four from the field scoring eight points. The Skyhawks could do no wrong and were firing on all cylinders. The Magic had no answer and trailed at the end of the third quarter 89-64.
College Park continued their trend in the fourth quarter and never looked back. Despite the Magic's best efforts, they could never recover from their lopsided second and third-quarter performances. The Skyhawks finished the game 124-96.
Brandon Williams had a team-high 20 points for the Skyhawks.
Simi Shittu had a double-double career-high 28 points and 15 rebounds for the Magic.
The Lakeland Magic (0-1) will face the Windy City Bulls on Friday, January 6 at the Now Arena at 8:00 PM on NBAGleague.com.
