
Magic Fall to Vipers at Home

The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, fell to the Rio Grande Vipers 133-126 at the RP Funding Center.
The Magic faced the Vipers for the first game of a back-to-back. Lakeland opened the game strong outscoring the Vipers 36-34. Magic guard Jay Scrubb fired off 12 first-quarter points on five of seven shooting. At the start of the second quarter the Magic took off with an eight-to-two run. The Vipers then responded with a 14-2 run. Vipers guard Josh Christopher finished the first half with 17 points, helping Rio Grande Valley to a 62-60 lead.
The Magic came back in the second half going on a nine to zero run. Lakeland outscored the Vipers 33-32 trailing by one at the end of the third quarter. Early in the fourth quarter, the clubs exchanged the lead two times. The Vipers got their eighth win in a row with a career-high-scoring performance by Christopher.
Christopher finished with 35 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds. Trevor Hudgins posted 23 points and four assists. Darius Days had a near double-double with 22 points and nine rebounds.
Jay Scrubb had a game-high 36 points for the Magic while Zavier Simpson had a double-double posting 19 points and 14 assists
The Lakeland Magic (4-7) will host the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Saturday, December 10 at the RP Funding Center at 7:00 PM on Bally Sports Florida.
