Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders scored the first goal of the game, then the game-winner 44 seconds later in a 4-1 win against the Waterloo Black Hawks at Young Arena Saturday.
Playing their third road game of the year, the RoughRiders opened the scoring just past the midway point of the action, with an Eric Robinson redirection at 13:37 of the second. Jeff Costello then scored on a scramble in front of the net at 14:21.
The Black Hawks cut the lead in half when Jamie Hill made a hustling play, delivering a hit to free the puck behind the Cedar Rapids net, then feeding Brock Montpetit for the goal at 12:37 of the third. This time a goal less than 60 seconds later went to the other side, with Zach Lehrke tipping Costello's shot in at 13:33. Costello added his second at 16:23.
The Black Hawks are away for their next game, visiting the Western Division-leading Sioux Falls Stampede Saturday. The next Hawks home game is October 23rd against the Omaha Lancers.
