JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Florida Marlins have announced a pair of roster moves that affects their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns prior to tonight's game against the Carolina Mudcats at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.
Right-handed reliever Corey Madden has been transferred to the disabled list retroactive to May 31 with a right quad strain. Madden in 17 relief appearances was 2-0 with a 1.72 ERA.
In a corresponding move, right-handed reliever Jeff Allison has been transferred from the disabled list to the Suns roster. Allison, who was placed on the disabled list May 22 with a right hand third finger blister, is 1-2 this season in eight games and one start with a 9.45 ERA.
The Suns roster now stands at 24, and a revised roster has been attached.
The Suns and Mudcats will play the fourth game of the series on Thursday night at the Baseball Grounds. Left-hander Brad Hand (6-1, 3.63 ERA) will start for Jacksonville while Carolina will start right-hander James Avery (3-6, 4.53 ERA). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m., and fans can listen to the game beginning at 6:50 p.m. on with the U.F. & Shands Pregame Show on Jacksonville's WFXJ AM 930 the Fox and www.jaxsuns.com.
