GENERALS RECAP: Andrew Carraway surrendered just one run in seven innings on the mound Wednesday afternoon, leading Jackson to a 7-3 win over Montgomery. The Generals take a 2-1 series lead and are back to nine games above .500, 31-22. Nate Tenbrink and Rich Poythress hit homeruns in the game, pacing a 10-hit afternoon. Jackson is 8-4 in day baseball. Jake Shaffer's 10-game hitting streak came to an end. Shaffer was 0-for-4. Kyle Seager notched his 20th multi-hit game of the season, finishing 2-for-3, and reaching base three times. Tenbrink and Poythress had two hits apiece, with the homeruns. Nevin Ashley logged the only two-hit game for the Biscuits. Carraway (3-0) won his second game in three starts. Andrew went seven innings and scattered three hits, striking out five and walking one. Chris Archer (1-3) took the loss for the Biscuits, allowing four earned runs in five frames. Steve Delabar saved his first Double-A game, throwing 0.2 innings, walking one.

AT A GLANCE: Jake Shaffer went 0x4 yesterday, ending his hitting streak at 10 games. During the streak he hit .400 (18x45) with 6 runs scored, 3 doubles, 2 home runs and 4 RBI. He has also recorded a hit in 16 of his last 20 games, batting .372 (32x86) with 13 runs, 4 doubles, 3 triples, 3 home runs and 10 RBI. Scott Savastano has safely in 10 of his last 11 games, batting .463 (19x41) with 8 runs scored, 5 doubles, 1 home run and 9 RBI. Kyle Seager has hit safely in his last 5 games, batting .478 (11x23) with 4 runs, 1 double and 1 RBI.

TODAY'S STARTER: RHP Tom Wilhelmsen is making his second start tonight. In three games this season with Jackson, Wilhelmsen has gone no more than 2.0 innings. In Tom's last start he allowed one run on no hits, walking a season high 4 batters against Mobile, in game one of a double header last Saturday. Wilhelmsen began the season with the Seattle Mariners, appearing in 8 games out of the pen. He was 0-0, with a 5.59 ERA in those games.

SUCCESSFUL MAY: The Generals finished up the month of May Tuesday with a 19-12 overall record and 12-5 at Pringles Park. Jackson hit .275, with 27 homeruns and 156 runs scored. The team ERA was 3.79 with 215 strikeouts and just 81 walks.

SECOND LONGEST GAME IN CLUB HISTORY: The 18-inning game two of the double-header on May 25th tied for the second longest game in club history. The Generals and BayBears played an 18-inning game on July 8, 2000, with the Diamond Jaxx scoring 3 runs in the top of the 18th, winning 3-0. The longest game in Diamond Jaxx/Generals history was on August 12, 2006 when West Tenn lost 5-2 in 20 innings at Jacksonville. The Generals had three chances to win last night, in the 12th, 13th and 14th, but surrendered runs in each inning.

SOUTHERN EXPOSURE: The Generals continue their series against Montgomery tonight. Jackson has played 43 games against the South Division (22-21), as opposed to 10 games against their own division, the North (9-1). Jackson will play 88 of their 140 games against the South Division. Jackson has yet to play Carolina or Tennessee in their own division.
