Mad Ants Topple the Stampede

BOISE, Idaho - Paul Carter had 19 points and six rebounds, and six other Stampeders scored 10 or more points, but Idaho (18-28) lost to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 109-100.

David Bailey added 15 points and four assists off the bench for the Stampede. Tony Bobbitt had 14 points and four steals, Seth Tarver added 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists, Reggie Larry and Marcus Banks each scored 11 points, and Mikki Moore had 10 points. The Stampede played another hot-and-cold game, with just 22 points and 18 points in the first and third quarters, while scoring 31 and 29 in the second and fourth quarters. Idaho made 17-of-19 free throws in the loss, but allowed the Mad Ants to shoot 58.0 percent (40-of-69) from the field.

Fort Wayne (12-33) also out-rebounded Idaho 40-29, with Vernon Macklin totaling 20 rebounds (six offensive) and 24 points. The team made 10-of-17 three-pointers and 19-of-26 free throws in the win. Stephen Graham added 20 points and five assists and Tory Jackson had 17 points.

Idaho plays next at Reno on March 30 at 8 p.m. (MST).
