FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Gabe York scored 43 points and Pedro Bradshaw had his first career double double as the Mad Ants topped Windy City on Saturday, 121-115.
Windy City outrebounded Fort Wayne 51-45 but the Mad Ants countered with 15 three point makes.
Windy City jumped out to an early first quarter lead and took control inside with Marko Simonovic leading the way with nine points while Kostas Antetokounmpo picked up six first quarter rebounds. The Bulls led by as many as 10 in the quarter and held a 37-30 advantage after one.
Fort Wayne closed the gap to start the second quarter as Jermaine Samuels Jr. and Pedro Bradshaw made things happen off the bench. A Gabe York three cut the Windy City lead to 44-43 midway through the quarter and a Samuels Jr. basket with 6:08 left in the first half gave Fort Wayne their first lead of the game at 45-44. Fort Wayne would extend their second quarter lead to as many as nine on a Gabe York three with 4:47 to play; 53-44. Before the half, Windy City would draw back within five but trailed 66-56 at the half.
The third quarter shifted back to Windy City as they pushed on what was a growing Mad Ants lead. Windy City climbed within four before the Mad Ants extended their lead back to nine at the end of the quarter, 91-82. Carlik Jones led Windy City with 10 third quarter points, countered by Deividas Sirvydis' eight points in the third.
Windy City would again start the fourth strong, getting the Mad Ants lead down to four at 95-91 and then to two with 7:30 left on an Antetokounmpo dunk to make it 97-95. The Bulls tied the game twice near the five-minute mark, both times on buckets from Simonovic but both times York answered on the other end. Windy City gained the lead back for the first time since the second quarter with a Jones layup with 3:02 remaining in the game but a York bucket gave Fort Wayne at 112-109 lead back. A York three with 43.1 seconds left to take a 118-115 lead was the icing on the cake.
