Indiana Mad Ants News Release

Fort Wayne, Ind. - The Fort Wayne Mad Ants (14-11) defeated the Agua Caliente Clippers (12-12), 105-90, at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on Monday night.

The Mad Ants won its fifth game out of the last six behind another strong effort from Indiana Pacers two-way guard Edmond Sumner's 29 points and five assists. Sumner was transferred to Fort Wayne yesterday.

The leaders in the Central Division relied heavily on the bulk of its roster on Monday night. Travin Thibodeaux and Demetrius Denzel-Dyson both started their first game this season.

Thibodeaux finished the night with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Denzel-Dyson pitched in six assists in over 30 minutes of action.

A slow first quarter from both sides kept Agua Caliente within reach of the Mad Ants, but Fort Wayne would never trail after the 2:27 mark in the second quarter.

A 14-2 run out of the halftime break would allow the Mad Ants to settle into a lead the rest of the night.

Stephan Hicks and Omari Johnson finished the night with 17 and 12 points each. Hicks' 13 rebounds gave him his sixth double-double this season.

Rob Gray added 19 points on 7-of-17 shooting and three assists off the bench.

LA Clippers two-way forward Angel Delgado did everything possible to give Agua Caliente a spark with 30 points and 24 rebounds. The leading rebounder in the NBA G League set a new record for the most rebounds by an opposing player against Fort Wayne.

Brandon Fields, Anthony Bennett, Manu Lecomte, and J.J. Avila also finished in double figures for the Clippers.

The Mad Ants return home on Saturday night to take on Lakeland. Agua Caliente will head back west to take on Stockton on Thursday night.
