Mackintosh, Goldeyes Fall to T-Bones

Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release
Jason Mackintosh must wonder what it is he has to do to get a win around here.
One night after the Winnipeg Goldeyes pounded out 16 hits and scored nine runs in support of Ace Walker, the Fish bats went ice cold behind Mackintosh last night, as the Goldeyes lost 6-1 to the Kansas City T-Bones.
The Goldeyes built a 1-0 lead on a solo home run by Dee Brown in the second inning, but that was it. The Goldeyes (read: Juan Diaz, who went two-for-four and raised his batting average to .333) mustered only two more hits after Brown's homer.
The T-Bones, meanwhile, tied it in the fifth and then went ahead 2-1 on a sixth-inning solo homer by Jacob Blackwood, but after Mackintosh was pulled in the seventh, young Sean Gregory gave up a two-run double to Keanan Simon and then a two-run home to Blackwood and that was it. The Fish were 6-1 losers and fell to 40-40 on the season.
Cody McAllister (10-5) pitched seven complete innings are earned the victory. Meanwhile, with the loss, Mackintosh fell to 1-4 on the season even though he's pitched solidly in every outing since coming to the Goldeyes from Maui of the Golden League. He simply gets no run support.
The loss also means the Goldeyes fell out of the fourth and final playoff spot in the NL Tuesday night as Joliet beat Lake County 3-0 last night and improved to 41-40.
Winnipeg and Kansas City play the final game of this three-game series in Kansas City Wednesday night and then Winnipeg will head to Fargo for a four-game weekend series with their arch-rival RedHawks.
