Rockland County, NY - Jake MacKenzie had three hits and drove in five runs as the host New York Boulders completed a sweep of their three-game series with the winless Empire State Greys after a 12-7 win on Sunday at Clover Stadium in Pomona.
The loss was the 21st straight to open the Frontier League season for the Greys.
The Boulders snapped a 5-5 tie with five runs in the sixth inning. With the bases loaded and one out, Jake MacKenzie drew a walk from Ernesto Huizar to give New York the lead. Francisco Del Valle followed with two-run single before Gian Martellini doubled in one to make it to make it 9-5.
Jesus Rosario came on to pitch for the Greys and eventually issued a bases loaded walk to David Vinsky that pushed the Boulders' advantage to 10-5.
In the seventh, MacKenzie added a pair of insurance runs with a two-run home run, his fourth long ball of the season.
The Greys opened the scoring in the first inning on a Jordan Holloman-Scott RBI single. New York answered with three runs in their half of the first - one on a Max Smith single and two via a MacKenzie double.
