MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team has waived forwards Damiris Dantas and Taylor Soule.
An eight-year veteran, Dantas has played in 202 career games with 128 career starts. In her 2022 campaign, she averaged 5.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists. She was originally selected by the Lynx in the first round (12th overall) of the 2012 WNBA Draft, arriving in Minnesota for the 2014 season. She was a part of the three-team deal that saw Minnesota acquire Sylvia Fowles from Chicago, sending Dantas to the Atlanta Dream. She returned to Minnesota after playing three seasons with the Dream, where she averaged 7.2 points and 3.7 rebounds in 18.3 minutes per contest. She was re-signed with Minnesota on February 8, 2019, where she has spent the last four seasons.
Soule saw action in both Minnesota preseason games. In 35 total minutes, she finished with 12 points, four rebounds and three steals. The 5-11 forward was selected 28th overall in the 2023 WNBA Draft by Minnesota.
