May 18, 2023 - Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA)
Minnesota Lynx News Release
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx today set their 12-player roster as they prepare for Opening Night Friday, May 19 vs. Chicago. The game at Target Center is slated to tipoff at 7:00 p.m. Minnesota is celebrating its 25th WNBA anniversary season, presented by Mayo Clinic.
The 2023 roster is highlighted by returning 2019 Rookie of the Year, Napheesa Collier, who returns to her first full season of action since 2021 after sitting out the majority of the 2022 season due to the birth of her child last May. She is joined by returners Lindsay Allen, Rachel Banham, Kayla McBride, Bridget Carleton, Nikolina Milić, Aerial Powers and Jessica Shepard.
Newly acquired guard Tiffany Mitchell is set to make her Lynx regular season debut tomorrow. Mitchell was signed as a free agent on Feb. 3 and previously played for the Indiana Fever from 2016 through the 2022 season in which she saw action in 209 contests with 95 career starts. During this time, she averaged 9.6 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.
Joining the veteran players are rookies Diamond Miller (second overall pick) and Dorka Juhász (16th overall pick). Miller is the highest ranked pick for the Lynx since Maya Moore was drafted first overall in the 2011 WNBA Draft.
