
Lynx to host two open practices

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx will host two open practices later this month to give fans in the Twin Cities an opportunity to see the players and coaches. It will also be the fans' first introduction to five new players, led by first-round draft picks Lindsey Harding and Noelle Quinn, that are expected to jumpstart an electrifying new era in the team's history.
The Lynx will practice at St. Paul Central High School on Thursday, May 10 from 6-8 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. St. Paul Central High School is located at 275 North Lexington Parkway, Saint Paul, Minn. On Tuesday, May 15, the Lynx will hold practice at Champlin Park High School from 6-8 p.m. Doors at Entrance 5 will open at 5:30 p.m. Champlin Park High School is located at 6025 109th Avenue NE, Champlin, Minn. The first 100 fans in attendance at each practice will be able to meet the players during a 30-minute post-practice autograph session. A $2 donation will be collected to benefit the girls basketball teams at both schools.
"We are excited to be able to reach out to both communities," Lynx coach Don Zierden said. "Both practice sessions will give the fans a chance to meet the players and the coaching staff before the season begins on May 19 against the Indiana Fever. Hopefully, we will be able to give them a taste of what we hope will be an exciting season in Minnesota."
The Lynx will open their preseason against the San Antonio Silver Stars at Charles Koch Arena at Wichita State University on May 5th at 7 p.m. Minnesota will also host the Los Angeles Sparks in Seimone Augustus' return to LSU at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on May 13 at 4 p.m.
The Lynx will open the 2007 season at the Indiana Fever on May 19 and will play their home opener on Sunday, May 20, at 6 p.m. against the Sacramento Monarchs at the Target Center.
