
Mercury change start time of May 8 exhibition

PHOENIX - The Phoenix Mercury today announced a change in the start time of the team's May 8 home exhibition against the Los Angeles Sparks.
The game will now begin at 12:30 p.m. and will kick-off a doubleheader of basketball at US Airways Center this Tuesday, as the Phoenix Suns host the San Antonio Spurs in Game 2 of their Western Conference Semifinals series at 7:30 p.m. Doors for the Mercury game will open at noon.
Winners of a franchise-best seven straight to finish 2006, the Phoenix Mercury look to pick up where they left off led by All-Stars Diana Taurasi, Cappie Pondexter and Tangela Smith in the record-shattering offense of head coach Paul Westhead. Under the direction of new general manager Ann Meyers Drysdale, Phoenix opens its 11th WNBA season on Saturday, May 19 at 7:00 p.m. at US Airways Center against the San Antonio Silver Stars. The first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive a Diana Taurasi replica jersey courtesy of the Arizona Lottery.
