The Lynx struck first with a run in the bottom of the second inning. Jim Rushford knocked a one-out single, moving to second on Randy Ruiz's walk before scoring on Danny Sandoval's RBI single.
Norfolk came back with three big runs in the top of the fifth but the Lynx came back the very next inning, tying the score with a pair in the bottom of five. Chris Roberson walked, scoring on Joe Thurston's RBI triple.
Thurston would later score on a wild pitch to tie the game at 3-3. Norfolk pulled ahead again with a run in the top of the seventh, but Ottawa took the lead in the bottom on Gary Burnham's clutch two-out home run to score Brennan King ahead of him to send the Lynx home winners.
