Lynx get MacInnis from Thunder, complete trade with Victoria

The Augusta Lynx announced the completion of a pair of trades involving future considerations today, acquiring defenseman Aaron MacInnis from the Stockton Thunder to complete an earlier three-way deal for goaltender Trevor Cunning, and sending forwards B.J. Gaustad and Doug Wright to the Victoria Salmon Kings in the Jay Latulippe trade.

Standing 6-1 and weighing in at 200 lbs., the 25-year-old MacInnis makes a solid addition to the Lynx blue line for 2006-07. The Port Hood, Nova Scotia native has spent his entire pro career in the ECHL, spending time with Cincinnati, Texas, Victoria, and Stockton over three seasons. His career totals include 184 pro games, scoring 11 goals and 51 points to go with 150 minutes in penalties. MacInnis played three seasons of junior hockey split between the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and the Ontario Hockey League before heading to the University of Prince Edward Island for four years.

Leaving Augusta for Victoria are forwards Gaustad, 27, and Wright, 25, as the future considerations that brought Latulippe to the club on March 10. Gaustad recorded eight goals and 32 points in 55 games with Augusta, while Wright finished with five goals and eight points in 35 games.
