Minnesota Lynx News Release

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx today announced that the home game on July 6 against the Sacramento Monarchs, originally scheduled to be held at the Target Center, will be moved to Williams Arena on the University of Minnesota campus. Tip-off remains at 7 p.m. (CDT).

With Prince scheduled to perform at Target Center on Saturday, July 7, the Lynx, in cooperation with the University of Minnesota, moved the game to Williams Arena to accommodate the necessary preparations for the concert.

It will be the first time in Lynx history that a regular-season home game is played outside of Target Center.

The Lynx have played two previous games at the University of Minnesota, but only one other game at Williams Arena. On May 1, 2005, the Lynx played host to the Connecticut Sun in a preseason game at "The Barn" and fell 76-71. On May 13, 2006, the Lynx played host to the Seattle Storm in a preseason game at the Sports Pavilion and walked off with an 84-75 victory.

"We are excited to have the opportunity to play at historic Williams Arena," Lynx Vice President of Business Development Angela Taylor said. "The Lynx are looking forward to playing in 'The Barn,' which has seen its share of exciting women's basketball games, including the run that the University of Minnesota made to the Final Four in 2004. We hope that by bringing the WNBA to 'The Barn,' the Lynx and the University of Minnesota can continue to foster a strong connection to the community that we share through women's basketball."

Minnesota's season continues tonight against the San Antonio Silver Stars at the AT&T Center in San Antonio. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CDT.

Season ticket plans and mini-plans are on sale now and can be reserved calling a Lynx Season Ticket Sales Representative at 612-673-8400 or by visiting www.lynxbasketball.com.

All 2007 Minnesota Lynx games will be broadcast on the radio home of the Lynx, BOB 106.1 FM. The broadcasts will include both pre- and post-game shows hosted by Brian Sieman, who returns for his fifth season as the Lynx play-by-play radio voice.
