LAST NIGHT'S LYNX GAME

LYNX TOP PLAYOFF-BOUND FEVER

LYNX 86

FEVER 76

Charde Houston came off the bench to score 18 points and Vanessa Hayden-Johnson and Anna DeForge added 13 apiece as Minnesota improved to 15-17, downing the playoff-bound Indiana Fever 86-76 Tuesday night at Target Center. Minnesota played without stars Seimone Augustus and Candice Wiggins for much of the game. Augustus went down at the 5:07 minute mark of the first quarter when she fell to the floor after corralling a rebound, hurting her neck. Augustus was in extreme pain and had to be taken off the court on a wheelchair. Wiggins left the game just before the conclusion of the first half due to a knee injury. The rest of the Lynx picked up the slack, led by yet another stellar effort from Minnesota's bench. The crew of Wiggins, Houston, Hayden-Johnson, Moore and Quinn accounted for 48 of Minnesota's 86 points. Minnesota got off to a fast start, charging ahead by 11, 21-9 after one. Minnesota continued its hot shooting into the second, connecting on 66.7% of their shots in the second to take a 44-29 lead into the break. Indiana began to claw their way back into the game in the third, cutting the deficit to seven with just under two minutes to play in the quarter. Minnesota withstood the charge in the fourth, going 10-for-10 at the free-throw line in the fourth to pull away for the 10-point win. Minnesota never trailed and shot 51.7 FG% en route to the season-series sweep of the Fever. Tan White lead the way for the Fever, tallying 21 points and seven assists. With the loss, Indiana dropped to 15-17. Minnesota closes out the home portion of its schedule Friday night against Phoenix on Fan Appreciation Night at the Target Center.
