Lynx Announce Local Broadcast Partners for the 2009 Season

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx today announced their local broadcast partners for the upcoming 2009 WNBA season. FS North, beginning its 11th-consecutive year of broadcasting Lynx games, will televise locally a total of six Lynx games this summer, while BOB 106 will carry all 34 games on radio.

"We are truly grateful for our wonderful partners," said Conrad Smith, Lynx Chief Operating Officer. "Because of both FS North and BOB 106's commitment to our franchise, fans will get the opportunity to catch the best women's basketball in the world six times on television and 34 times on radio throughout the 2009 WNBA season. We're really excited to have every game, both home and away, available to our loyal fans."

FS North's six-game schedule begins with the home opener on Saturday, June 6 vs. Sylvia Fowles and the Chicago Sky. The first 2,500 fans through the gates on the home opener will receive a Lynx 2009 regular-season magnet schedule.

Other highlights of the FS North television schedule include Diana Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury on Saturday, June 27 (7:00 p.m.), Lindsey Whalen and the Connecticut Sun on Friday, Aug. 7 (9:30 p.m., taped delay broadcast) and Sue Bird and the Seattle Storm on Saturday, Sept. 5 (7:00 p.m.). FS North will also broadcast the Lynx Kids Day Game on Wednesday, July 15 vs. Atlanta. Tip-off for the weekday matinee is 12:00 p.m.

BOB 106 returns for its fourth-straight season as Minnesota's radio partner. All 34 regular-season games will broadcasted live over the air, as well as on wnba.com. Lynx broadcaster Alan Horton enters his second year calling games for the Lynx.

The Minnesota Lynx open their 11th year of basketball in the Twin Cities on June 6, 2009 vs. the Chicago Sky at Target Center. Season and group tickets for the 2009 season are now on sale.
