THE HILLCATS: Lynchburg dropped game two of a three-game series with Myrtle Beach, 8-3 the final...The series is now even at a game a piece with the deciding game this afternoon...The Hillcats won their last rubber match after starting the season 0-3 in deciding games of a series...Today is the final game of a ten-game homestand for the Cats who are 6-3 on this stretch of games thus far...They enter today three games back of first place Frederick in the Northern Division...

VS. MYRTLE BEACH: The Hillcats went 12-8 against the Pelicans last season and were 5-4 at City Stadium...Lynchburg's 10-3 win at Myrtle Beach last season on June 16th clinched the first half Northern Division Championship...Myrtle Beach has the all-time advantage in the series 118-103, and they are 55-54 in the Hill City...

THE EARLY BIRD CATCHES THE WORM, BUT THE SECOND MOUSE CATCHES THE CHEESE: The Hillcats are 8-1 in series openers this season and have won seven in a row after dropping their second game one contest of the season...At the same time though, they are 1-7 in series finales and 1-3 in rubber matches this year...After the first game of the series, the Cats are 6-14...They went 0-4-1 in their first five series of the season, and have won three straight coming into this set with Myrtle Beach looking for a series win today...

IT'S A WALK-OFF...AGAIN: Friday night Lynchburg won with a rally that resulted in a walk-off win for the third time in four nights at City Stadium...Those were the the Hillcats first three walk-off wins of the season and it was also the first three times they won a game this season with their final team at-bat...The only other game decided with a walk-off run was when the Cats lost at Potomac on a two-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning at Pfitzner Stadium on April 25th...

COMEBACK CATS 2.0? The Hillcats trailed 5-2 entering the bottom of the fifth inning Friday night before they scored one single run in the fifth, sixth, eighth and ninth innings to earn the 6-5 comeback win...They trailed 2-0 entering the bottom of the ninth inning Wednesday night before they scored three runs to earn the 3-2 victory...They trailed 5-0 entering the seventh inning Tuesday night before rallying for a 6-5 win...These two games marked the first three times Lynchburg has won when trailing after five innings (previously 0-8)...The Cats had only come from behind to win three games all season before Tuesday night, and all three comeback wins were just early one-run deficits...Last season the Comeback Cats had 23 come from behind victories out of their 45 wins in the first half of the season...Nine of those wins were with the team trailing in the seventh inning or later...The 2009 Hillcats had five walk-off wins, but none of them came in back-to-back nights...

SUPPORTING CAST: RHP Brad Boxberger had his shortest outing (three and 2/3 innings of action) and allowed the most run (seven) in his professional career...Only three of the runs were earned though thanks to an error and a passed ball...In Boxberger's two losses this season he has allowed a combined 11 runs, but only four of them have been earned...In those two games the defense committed six errors that led to seven unearned runs...In addition, he is only receiving 3.3 runs of support per game, the lowest of any current starter on the Hillcats...

KNUCKLE PUCK: INF Cody Puckett went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a walk last night...He is now riding a season-long nine-game hitting streak...Over that time he is 13-for-35 (.371) with eight doubles, a home run, six RBI, six runs scored and two stolen bases...He has raised his average from .255 to .305 over those nine contests...Puckett is tied for first in the Carolina League in extra-base hits (16), tied for second in doubles (12) and he is tied for fourth in the circuit in slugging percentage (.585) ...In his ten games in the two spot in the line-up he is 14-for-37 (.378) with nine doubles, a homer, seven RBI, eight runs and three steals...

THE PRESSURE'S HIGH: INF Alex Buchholz went 1-for-3 with an RBI last night...He was 1-for-1 with men in scoring position...He also smacked the game-winning RBI single Wednesday night in the bottom of the ninth inning to cap off the Hillcats comeback walk-off victory...This season he is batting .522 (12-for-23) with men in scoring position...Last season Buchholz batted just .165 (15-for-91) with RISP with Advanced-A Sarasota...

TODAY'S OPPOSING PITCHER: RHP Randall Delgado was signed by the Braves in 2006 out of Panama...In 2007 he pitched for the Dominican Braves and went 1-2 with a 2.00 ERA in 11 games (10 starts)...The next season he skipped the Gulf Coast League and posted a 3-8 mark with a 3.13 ERA in 14 starts...Last season he threw for full season Low-A Rome and had a 5-10 mark with a 4.35 ERA in 25 starts...At just 20 years of age he made his Advanced-A debut this season with Myrtle Beach and has gone 1-2 with a 3.12 ERA in six starts...Delgado is ranked as the seventh best prospect in the Braves system...Today will be his first start against Lynchburg...
