THE HILLCATS...Continue their final homestand of the year with the last of four games against the Winston-Salem Warthogs...Salvaged a seven-run lead in a 14-9 drubbing at the hands of the Warthogs last night ...Had won four straight games prior to the setback...Are in a stretch of playing 14 out of 17 games at home (6-7)...Still, are just 21-40 (.344) over their last 61 games...Are a season-high 10.5-games out of first place in the Northern Division...

THE WARTHOGS...Snapped a five-game losing streak with the win last night...However, are just 8-18 (.308) in their last 26 games...Were mathematically eliminated from playoff contention on Tuesday night...Had advanced to the post-season in each of the last 3 seasons...

NINE-RUN INNING: The Hillcats matched a franchise-record by allowing 9 runs in the 5th inning last night...All 9 runs scored before an out was recorded...David Cook and Rod Allen Jr. each hit grand slams in the inning...Note: Only 11 times in Major League history has a team connected on 2 grand slams in the same inning...

BACK-TO-BACK: OF Antonio Sucre and INF Justin Harris hit back-to-back home runs in the 3rd inning off RHP Matt Zaleski last night...It marks the first time this season the Cats have hit back-to-back homers...DH Juan Tejeda also homered in the 3rd...Previously, the team had not hit more than 2 HRs in any inning this season...

STEALS KING: OF Pedro Powell set a Hillcats single-season record (see graphic below) by swiping his 58th base of the season on Tuesday night...He leads the Carolina League with 58 steals (73 attempts)...Powell broke the record set by current Major Leaguer Rajai Davis in 2004...

NUMBER 90: With an RBI-triple in the 1st inning last night, 1B Steve Pearce has now combined for 90 RBIs between Low-A Hickory and Lynchburg...

BACK HEALTHY: 2B Dan Schwartzbauer returned to the lineup on Tuesday after missing 2 games with a sore back...He has reached base safely in all 3 games since returning...Also, he has recorded 32 of his 50 RBIs (64 %) in his last 30 games...In addition, he has garnered one RBI or more in 20 of his last 30 games played...

RUNNING MAN: SS Brent Lillibridge has scored a team-best 23 runs in the last 22 games...In addition, with 2 more stolen bases last night, he has upped his season total to 50 between Low-A Hickory and Lynchburg...His steal total is the 11th highest in all of minor league baseball...

EXTRA BASES: OF Antonio Sucre went 2-4 with 6 total bases last night (2B, HR)...21 of his 35 hits (60%) have gone for exta bases...

TONIGHT'S OPPONENT: Justin Cassell, 21, is a 6-1, 190-pound right-hander selected by Chicago (AL) in the seventh round of the 2006 draft out of UC Irvine. The Northridge, CA native began his professional playing career with Great Falls (R, Pioneer) and went 3-2 with a 2.97 ERA (39.1 ip, 38 h, 17 r, 13 er, 10 bb, 37 k). He has made one start in the Carolina League, going 0-1 with a 9.82 ERA (3.2 ip, 11 h, 7 r, 4 er, 1 bb, 1 k). His older brother, Matt Cassell, is a backup quarterback for the New England Patriots.

- Hankins has gone 0-3 with a 3.75 ERA in 4 g, 4 gs vs. W-S in 2006 (24.0 ip, 29 h, 12 r, 10 er, 1 bb, 7 k, .302)

- Cassell has no career appearances against Lynchburg.
