TONIGHT'S GAME
The Hillcats and Indians meet for the final game of a three-game series to open the second half and Lynchburg looks to salvage the
series finale from Kinston. Last night, The Indians took an early lead en route to a 6-2 victory over the Hillcats. The Cats have now
dropped 12 of their last 16 contests, including four straight to the Indians. Still, the Hillcats are 18-15 over their last 33 games.
-Unfamiliar Territory: The Cats are 1.0-game back in the division after not trailing in the standings at any point in the first half schedule.
-Reset: The Indians have outscored the Hillcats 13-0 in the first inning of the six games played between the teams at City Stadium in 2005.
2005 SERIES WITH KINSTON
The Kinston Indians lead the season series, 10-3. The Indians won the 2004 season series, 11-8, marking just the third time in 11 seasons
that the K-Tribe took the season series. However, the Hillcats won the 2003 matchup, 13-7. Lynchburg also dominated the 2002
series, 17-3, and then took the Mills Cup Series, 3-1. Overall, Lynchburg leads the lifetime series, 109-99 (.524).
-The Hillcats have gone 44-32 (.579) in the last 75 G of this series & they've have taken 60 of the last 102 (.588) going back to '00.
-Arrows, but no Broomsticks: The Indians have not swept the Hillcats in a series since 1999 (8/19-8/20/99; 3-game series)

Lynchburg alumni LHP Zach Duke (2004) and RHP Ian Snell (2003) were both named to the 2005 XM Satellite Radio Futures Game
Roster. Duke (11-3, 2.87 ERA) and Snell (9-2, 4.06) currently rank first and third respectively in the International League in wins.

-Tonight, LHP Brian Holliday (see page 3) seeks to get back over .500 with a win against RHP Bear Bay, who has won two of his last
three decisions and has the fifth best ERA in the Carolina League.
-Bay, 21, is a 6-2, 160-pound left-hander selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 25th round of the 2002 draft out of Angelina (TX) JC. The
Cleveland Indians acquired Bay from Chicago (NL) in a trade for RHP Cliff Bartosh this past off-season. The Houston, TX native led
the Midwest League in innings pitched last year (168.1) compiling a record of 11-9 and a 3.10 ERA (28 g, 168.1 ip, 166 h, 71 r, 58 er, 30
bb, 139 k). In his first professional season, he led the Arizona League (R) in wins (7), was 2nd in strikeouts (69), 3rd in ERA (2.50) while
earning an all-star berth.
