
Lupul's two goals lead Ducks past first-place Wolves

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Joffrey Lupul scored two goals to lead the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks to a 3-1 victory over the Chicago Wolves Saturday at Cincinnati Gardens.
Chris Kunitz also scored and Zenon Konopka had a pair of assists for the Ducks, who improved to 3-1-0-0 in their last four games and remained tied with Houston for third place in the West Division at 81 points with eight games left to play.
Lupul, who scored three goals Friday in San Antonio, now has goals in six straight games, scoring 10 goals in that stretch.
Frederic Cassivi stopped 29 shots en route to his 20th victory of the season for the Ducks, who matched a franchise record for most home wins in a season with 23.
Stephen Weiss had the lone goal and Michael Garnett finished with 27 saves for the first-place Wolves, who have dropped two of their last three games.
The Ducks host Utah today at 5:05 p.m. at Cincinnati Gardens.
