HARTFORD, April 2, 2005: With eight games left in the regular season, the Hartford Wolf Pack clinched a playoff berth for their eighth straight year with a 3-2 overtime victory over the Portland Pirates this evening at the Hartford Civic Center.

The Pack has had a berth in the Calder Cup playoffs every year since its inception. The team now continues its fight for position in the very tight Atlantic Division - still four points behind Manchester, who beat Springfield tonight 3-2 also in overtime. The Lowell Lock Monsters, who the Pack plays tomorrow night, are eight points behind Hartford, after their loss to Providence tonight.
