Worcester Tornadoes News Release
BROCKTON, MA--- The Tornadoes dropped their sixth game in a row this evening in their final away contest, 6-1. This is Worcester's third consecutive loss to Brockton over two series.
Wayne Lundgren got the nod for Brockton tonight in a tune up before his start in game one of the Rox series against Quebec on the ninth of September. After three innings of one hit ball, John Kelly (2-3) gave Coach Carminucci four innings of relief in his second appearance out of the pen for the win. Worcester scored its lone run off Kelly in the fourth on a Yohanny Valera single.
The losing pitcher was Chris Farley (5-4) allowing three runs in the third on five singles and another three in one swing of Keith Brachold's bat in the sixth. The long ball was Brachold's fifteenth of the year, third against the Tornadoes in four games.
Tomorrow afternoon on the final Tykes' club Sunday of 2009, Jusef Frias will do his best to put the breaks on Worcester's losing skid against talented Rox lefty Craig Anderson at 2:05.
