In the first game of a doubleheader New Hampshire broke a 13 game losing streak with a 5-4 victory over Sussex. Starter Francisco Cervantes struck out nine batters in 6 1/3 innings for the American Defenders and got his first win to improve to 1-5. C Angel Molina homered, drove in three and stole two bases to pace the New Hampshire offense. Jorge Moreno homered for Sussex in the loss.

Sussex 6, New Hampshire 2 (Game 2 - 7 Innings)

In game two, Sussex scored four times in the top of the fourth inning to gain a split with a 6-2 win. Mike Schellinger went six innings for the Skyhawks and allowed just two runs on six hits. He moved his record to 5-8 with the victory. DH Chris Kelly and CF Jorge Moreno each drove in a run for Sussex during the pivotal fourth inning. Starter Miguel Flores worked just three innings for New Hampshire and took the loss as he allowed six runs on six hits.

Brockton 6, Worcester 1

Brockton got solid performances from four pitchers and a balanced offensive attack to top Worcester 6-1. Wayne Lundgren started and surrendered just one hit in three innings before John Kelly tossed the next four innings and allowed one run on four hits. Adam Piechowski and Matt Zachary each worked a perfect inning to finish the contest. RF Keith Brachold hit a three-run homer for the Rox and three other Brockton hitters tallied one RBI each.

Quebec 17, New Jersey 5

HR: QBC- Pete LaForest 3(24), Ivan Naccarata (6), Goef Tomlinson (5); NJ- Quinn Stewart (9)

Three players combined to drive in 14 runs for Quebec as the Capitales routed New Jersey 17-5. C Pete LaForest tied a league record with three homeruns in the contest as he drove in five. CF Goef Tomlinson homered, also drove in five, and finished 4-for-6. SS Ivan Naccarata went 3-for-6 with a homerun and four RBI. Michel Simard pitched seven innings for the Capitales and struck out six to improve to 9-6 with the win.
