Clinton LumberKings News Release

Burlington, IA "" It was all Burlington Bees through the first four innings as they held a 4-0 lead over the LumberKings on Saturday night. Down but not out, Clinton rallied and pieced together a come-from-behind 5-4 win in ten innings at Community Field to improve to 2-1 in the second half.

Bees left-hander Ryan Crowley was cruising until he hit a rough patch in the fifth inning. Leading 4-0, Crowley allowed a single to Gaby Guerrero who stole second and scored on Jabari Henry's two-out single.

In the sixth, Janelfry Zorrilla hit a sacrifice fly to score Dario Pizzano to cut the lead in half at 4-2. Marcus Littlewood followed with a walk and Jordy Lara hit a mammoth two-run home run to tie the game at 4-4.

The game stayed tied until the tenth inning when Clinton came up with two-out magic. Zorrilla lined a single to left off Garrett Baker. He stole second and moved to third on Sandy Martinez's overthrow. With Littlewood at the plate, Baker uncorked a wild pitch to deliver Zorrilla and give Clinton a 5-4 lead.

The LumberKings bullpen of Jochi Ogando, Mark Bordonaro, Oliver Garcia and Grady Wood combined for six shutout innings.

Wood came on for Garcia with one out in the bottom of the tenth inning. With Andrew Ray and second and Kevin Moesquit at first, Wood retired Michael Bolaski on a comebacker and then got Chance Ross to bounce out to second to end it.

The two teams wrap the series on Sunday. Clinton sends left-hander Tyler Pike (4-3, 2.90) to the mound against Burlington right-hander Alex Keudell (4-3, 3.16). First pitch is set for 2:00 CT.
