Clinton, IA - The Clinton LumberKings return to Ashford University Field following their longest road trip of the season to host an eight-game in seven-night homestand. The Cedar Rapids Kernels (A, affiliate of the Minnesota Twins) and the Burlington Bees (A, affiliate of the Los Angeles Angles) take on the LumberKings for their first and second, respective, trips of the year to Clinton.
Don't miss your chance to see the first overall pick in last year's draft Royce Lewis make his first trip to Ashford University Field. Following a three-game set with the Kernels, the LumberKings will then play host to the Bees in a five-game series that will feature a doubleheader.
The homestand begins on Friday night against the talent laden Cedar Rapids Kernels. A team that boasts four first round/compensation picks, the Kernels and LumberKings have been neck and neck atop the standings in the Western Division for much of the season. This Western Division rivalry will resume on Friday night with special ticket offers available through Unity Christian and Fulton Elementary PTA.
Its giveaway night at Ashford University Field! Arrive early to receive a special Seattle Mariners Military themed cap as we honor our hometown heroes, before, during, and after the game. The giveaways continue as Regalia Manufacturing will be on hand to pass out special patriotic themed giveaways!
The series comes to an end with a Sunday matinee at Ashford University Field. Miss Clinton County will be at the ballpark to take pictures and hand out tiaras to celebrate Miss Clinton County Princess day in Clinton. It will also be Family Funday Sunday with face painting, balloon artists, and postgame kids run the bases all courtesy of the Children's Discovery Center.
The Burlington Bees come into Clinton for the second time this season to open up a five-game series on Monday night. Special tickets to the series opener with Burlington are available through the Jefferson Elementary School PTA.
Let's play two! The Burlington Bees and Clinton LumberKings resume their series with a doubleheader to make up their April 18th rain out. Both games will be seven-inning affairs with one ticket good to both games. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 5:00 PM with the second game to follow approximately 30 minutes following the final out of game one. The doubleheader will also mark the first LumberKings baseball card strip giveaway of the season! Arrive early to receive the first of seven baseball card strips courtesy of Clinton National Bank and Mediacom. Special tickets are available for the twin billing through the Eagle Heights Elementary School PTA.
All Tuesdays at Ashford University Field are "Two-Dollar Tuesdays." Two dollar tickets, two dollar box seat upgrades, two dollar Miller Lite and Coors Light tall boys, two dollar soft drinks, two dollar hot dogs, and two dollar ice cream will available for purchase all game long.
The series resumes on Wednesday with "Retro Beer Night!" For all fans 21 years and older, sit back and revel in the sudsy tastes of Hamm's, PBR, and Miller High Life for just $2. All specially priced beer will be sold exclusively out of the first base beer stand. Special offers on tickets are available to the game through the Clinton Middle School and Bluff Elementary PTA's.
The homestand comes to an end on Thursday night... a.k.a "Thirsty Thursday" at Ashford University Field. From 5-8 PM all fans 21 years in older can grab $2 Coors Light and Miller Lite tall boys that will be sold throughout the stadium. Special tickets offers, to the homestand finale, are available through the Camanche Schools PTA.
