Berkshire Black Bears News Release
A two-run double in the 6th inning from Manny Crespo would be all the Black Bears needed tonight as Berkshire beat Bangor 2-1.
Starter Rick Guttormson threw 8 solid innings, giving up one run on just 4 hits, walking only one and striking out seven for his third victory of the season. Matt Bailie pitched a scoreless ninth to register his fourth save of 2003. Lumberjacks starter Danny Miller went seven innings, with six strikeouts, getting the loss. With the win the Black Bears move to 15-16, one game under five hundred, after starting the year 0-9.
Game two of the four game home series with Bangor is at 7:05 pm at Wahconah, Dan Henderson (BER) vs John Vigue (BAN).
