Lumberjacks Debut $1 Beer/$1 Hot Dog Night this Weekend

MUSKEGON, Mich. (November 1, 2011) - The Muskegon Lumberjacks have found a winning formula at home, and hockey fans can also win this weekend with a trip to L.C. Walker Arena.

The first $1 Beer/$1 Hot Dog Night presented by John Morrell highlights a two-game weekend for the Lumberjacks, who will host Eastern Conference rivals Youngstown and Cedar Rapids this Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Courtesy of John Morrell, the Jacks are offering larger, more filling hot dogs as part of their revamped concession menu, and fans can purchase the new dogs as well as beers for $1 apiece from 6-8 p.m. during every Friday home game this season.

In addition, Friday night is Military Night, with active service members getting into the game free with an ID. Retired military personnel and veterans will receive $5 tickets with proper paperwork or identification.

Saturday night is Youth Hockey Night, featuring free admission for youngsters 12 and under wearing youth team jerseys. Also, local author Jay VandeVoorde will officially unveil his new children's book "Muskegon Lumberjacks: The Life of a Hockey Puck" at the game, with players available to autograph copies after the contest.

The Lumberjacks have won two in a row at home to keep pace in the USHL's strong Eastern Conference, as Michigan native Dakota Klecha leads the way with six goals in his last three games. Both contests this weekend begin at 7:15 p.m.
