Lugnuts to Auction Jerseys for Charity

Lansing, MI - The Lansing Lugnuts are proud to announce the 2005 Lugnuts Jersey Off Your Back Auction. The team will be auctioning off the jerseys worn during the 2005 season. The auction will conclude on Lugnut Charities Night as the Lugnuts take on the Southwest Michigan Devil Rays on August 27, 2005 in a 7:05pm game. Much of the proceeds from the auction will go to Lugnut Charities benefiting the United Way.
"We are very excited about Lugnut Charities Night," General Manager Jeff Calhoun said. "The Lugnuts are committed to helping the community of Lansing. The auction is an exciting event that both benefits the community and gives Lugnuts fans the opportunity to own a piece of Lugnuts history."
The silent auction will begin on Monday, August 22, 2005 at noon on the Lugnuts official website, www.lansinglugnuts.com. The web auction will run through Saturday, August 27, 2005. Starting bids will be $95.00 for each jersey. At the close of the website auction, the highest bids will be used as starting bids at the live silent auction during Lugnut Charities Night presented by Dan Henry Distributing on Saturday, August 27, 2005. At the conclusion of the live silent auction on the 29th, the winners will be announced. Winning bidders may claim their jerseys after the announcement.
Fans who are unable to attend the game on August 27 are encouraged to place the highest possible bid on their favorite players' jerseys to give them their best chance to win the jersey.
There is one jersey of each number from 1 to 48 up for auction. All jersey numbers except 41 will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. Descriptions of each jersey, including size, may be found at www.lansinglugnuts.com when the auction begins.
Fans are encouraged to bid on their favorite players' jerseys. A list of players whom have worn each jersey may be found at www.lansinglugnuts.com. The name of the player whom has worn the jersey last will be on the back of the jersey.
Lugnut Charities Night presented by Dan Henry Distributing will take place on August 27, 2005. There will be several ceremonies throughout the night honoring various charities in the Lansing area.
