LANSING- The Lansing Lugnuts pounded out 18 hits en route to a 12-4 thrashing of the Peoria Chiefs Sunday afternoon before 4,902 fans at Oldsmobile Park.

Lansing's hit parade began in the first when Scott Campbell smacked his third leadoff homer of the season to put the Lugnuts up 1-0.

The Lugnuts had a 2-0 lead when Peoria put runs on the board in the fourth and fifth innings to tie the affair at 2-2.

The tie game would not last long as Lansing scored twice in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead for good. Chris Emanuele's double to left-center plated Campbell put the Lugnuts up 3-2. Travis Snider followed that with an RBI single up the middle to extend the advantage to 4-2.

The biggest blow of the game for Lansing came in the following frame after Peoria had cut the lead to 4-3. Jonathan Diaz stepped up with the bases loaded and laced a double just over the left fielder Ryne Malone's head that scored all three runners to make it a 7-2 game.

Lansing added two more runs in the seventh, highlighted by a Sean Shoffit solo homer. It was his second one in as many days.

The scoring for Lansing ended in the ninth when three more runs crossed the plate. Every player in Lansing's lineup had at least one hit.

Chris Reddout (6-1) got the win, tossing 2 1/3 innings of relief and allowing just one run.

Lansing (60-51, 25-17) and Peoria (55-56, 24-18) will conclude the series on Monday evening at 7:05 p.m. Ray Gonzalez (5-5, 3.47) will hurl for the Lugnuts, while Jeremy Papelbon (5-4, 3.01) will take the mound for the Chiefs.
