LSM Player Spotlight: Noah Barlage

Madison Capitols News Release
Whether it's being named a Player of the Week, a call up, or even just making your way up the line up, a good week can change a lot in hockey. This was the case at Main Camp for Noah Barlage. Barlage is a defenseman on the Capitols this season, but after the USHL Draft, no team had his rights. He received an invite to Caps Main Camp this summer for a chance to make the 30-Man Roster that Madison would take to Training Camp in the fall.
The odds may have been stacked against him as an over-age player that did not have his rights held by Madison, but he grinded his way to be one of three players that Madison added to the roster. That addition does not always mean that he would make the active roster for the season. In fact, both of the other two players that the Capitols added from Main Camp did not make the team's 25-man roster, but Barlage has shown his ways.
From finding the score sheet multiple times during the two Main Camp All Star Games to scoring in the Capitols first game of the season, the Humboldt, Sask., native has performed well in his over-age year and first junior season away from home. An over-age player is entering his twenty-year old season in the league, which there is a limit on how many each team can carry. Madison has chosen to carry four this year.
Barlage played his first four full junior seasons at home in Humboldt with the Broncos in the SJHL. Playing in 167 games with the team, he was able to register just south of ninety points in his SJHL career. He was named an alternate captain of his team during the 2022-23 season with Humboldt, and his performance throughout his career in Humboldt earned Barlage his commitment to play division one hockey at Alaska-Fairbanks.
The Saskatchewan native is one of five defensemen to suit up in all fifteen games this season for Madison and is in the projected line up again on Friday when the Capitols host the Green Bay Gamblers. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 pm, and tickets are still on sale at tickets.madcapshockey.comhttp://tickets.madcapshockey.com.
