WOODBRIDGE, VA - Jose Lozada blasted a two-run homer over the wall in right-center field in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Potomac Nationals the 6-4 win over Lynchburg Sunday afternoon at Pfitzner Stadium.
With the game tied at four, Robby Jacobsen led off the bottom of the 10th with a double to left. Lozada homered two batters later to end the game and give the P-Nats the 2-1 series win over the Hillcats.
Lozada's blast was his second of the season. He finished the game 2-for-5 with four RBI. He was 7-for-18 with two home runs and six RBI during the seven-game homestand.
Five Nationals batters racked up multiple hits in Sunday's game. Steve Lombardozzi (2-5), Wilberto Ortiz (2-5), Robby Jacobsen (3-4), Lozada (2-5) and Ty Weeden (2-3) combined for 11 hits, five runs and all six RBI.
Cole Kimball was credited with the win for Potomac after tossing a scoreless 10th inning. Scott Carroll (0-1) picked up his first loss off the season despite holding the P-Nats scoreless through four innings.
The P-Nats head out on a six-game road trip beginning with a three-game series in Myrtle Beach Tuesday-Thursday and culminating with a return visit to Lynchburg Friday-Sunday.
