JOLIET, IL - The Traverse City Beach Bums(16-20) picked up their third win in a row, tonight in come-from-behind fashion, defeating the Joliet Slammers(20-17) by a final score of 3-2, ending the Slammers' ten game win streak.
After a scoreless first, Joliet got on the board on a bases-loaded walk issued to Ridge Hoopii-Haslam. Noah McGowan led off the third and promptly lined the first pitch he saw to center for the first hit of his professional career. Arby Fields followed with a walk and both runners moved up 90 feet to second and third on Isaac Benard's groundout. Will Kengor tied the game with an RBI single to drive in McGowan.
The Slammers retook the lead in the fifth on an RBI infield single by Trey Fulton. With one out in the eighth, Fields reached on an infield hit then stole second. Kengor reached on a fielder's choice putting runners on the corners with two outs. After a pitching change, Lowery rocked a fly ball to deep left field. Fields and Kengor both scored and Lowery was on at second with a two-run double, giving the Beach Bums the lead for good.
