
Loudoun United FC Sign D.C. United MLS SuperDraft Pick Skage Simonsen

Leesburg, VA. - Loudoun United FC announced today the addition of collegiate stand-out midfielder Skage Simonsen.
The powerful box-to-box midfielder was drafted in the third round of the 2022 MLS SuperDraft by D.C. United. Simonsen split his collegiate career between Southern Methodist University (SMU) and St. John's. During his time at St. John's, Simonsen put up nine goals and 10 assists in 38 appearances, making the All-Big East Second team in both his freshman and sophomore year.
Transferring to SMU, the 6'3" Norwegian produced 10 goals and four assists in 27 appearances. Simonsen was named to the All-AAC First Team twice while playing for the Mustangs.
"Skage [Simonsen] is a very talented attacking player with good size and excels with the ball at his feet. We are excited to add his creativity to the squad," Loudoun United Head Coach Ryan Martin said. "Skage had a great preseason with D.C. United. He has great vision on the pitch, and we believe his ability and personality are a perfect fit for our system."
