Sacramento Republic FC News Release
To enhance the fan experience at matches during the 2022 season, Republic FC announced today that Jackrabbit Brewing Company will help the club lead a new craft brewing council to lift up local businesses, celebrate products developed and made in the region, and expand the beer options on game day. The Blood, Sweat & Beers Council will help highlight the incredible breweries throughout the region that make locally, nationally, and globally recognized beverages. Through the Blood, Sweat & Beers Council, breweries will be able to feature their beer at Republic FC matches, host watch parties for Republic FC matches, and create memorable experiences for beer and soccer enthusiasts alike.
"Republic FC fans know but Sacramento's hidden gems include the craft breweries throughout the region and the special communities that pour their heart and soul into their business for the city to enjoy," said Chief Revenue Officer Dustin Vicari. "Jackrabbit Brewing Company's founding and continued growth is a perfect example of the inspired indomitable spirit shown by small businesses throughout this region, and we're excited to help highlight them and others to help tell these great blue-collar stories."
"Soccer and beer have gone hand-in-hand for many years, and we're excited to be a part of that growing experience for fans at Heart Health Park," said Erle Mankin, Jackrabbit Brewing Company Co-Owner and Operations Manager. "Not only does this partnership help us reach a wide audience, but it also allows us to feature the talent of craft brewers throughout the region."
Through the partnership, Jackrabbit will launch a new Republic FC beer - The Bear and the Hare, an IPA with a collection of custom co-branded labels. The beer can be found throughout the stadium on game day, as well as at Jackrabbit's West Sacramento brewery and taproom and fans can collect each of the specially-designed cans throughout the year. Limited-edition The Bear and the Hare t-shirts will also be available. Rotating Jackrabbit beer releases will also be featured throughout the season as well as sampling opportunities will be available at select home games. Since its founding in 2013, Jackrabbit Brewing Company has been known for creating craft beer that is rooted in tradition, while also defying convention with California-style inventiveness. In April, Jackrabbit will celebrate its 9th anniversary just as Republic FC continues its 9th season.
The Greater Sacramento region is home to over 80 craft breweries. Through the Blood, Sweat & Beers Council - named for a fan-favorite shirt sold by the club, Republic FC is working to create opportunities to highlight small businesses and the owners, staff, and brewers who add their own special touch to the flavors of the region. Council members will work with our passionate fans to help steer the club's game-day beer selection, as well as take advantage of uniquely created marketing opportunities for small businesses. As the season moves forward, Republic FC will work with council members to create individual opportunities to bring people back to breweries, provide special experiences at games, help grow locally-owned businesses. The Blood, Sweat & Beers collection will return later this year, and Republic FC plans to work with the Sacramento Area Brewers Guild to find opportunities to support local breweries and the unique challenges they have faced during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Republic FC fans can get their first taste of the season and Jackrabbit's Bear and the Hare when the Indomitable Club hosts El Paso Locomotive FC at Heart Health Park this Saturday, March 12 at 7:00 p.m.
