GALAXY OPEN DEFENSE OF 2005 MLS CUP CHAMPIONSHIP ON APRIL 1, 2006 AGAINST REVOLUTION: The 2005 MLS Cup Champion Los Angeles Galaxy will open their 2006 season against the New England Revolution on Saturday, April 1 at 8 pm (PT) at The Home Depot Center on the campus of California State University - Dominguez Hills, the club announced today. The game will be a hotly contested rematch of MLS Cup 2005, where the Galaxy defeated Revs by a 1-0 scoreline in overtime. The Los Angeles Galaxy have compiled an impressive all-time record of 8-2-0 in their 10 previous MLS home openers and are unbeaten since a 3-2 loss to the San Jose Earthquakes at the Rose Bowl on April 7, 2001. The club also made it known that, for the eleventh consecutive season, they will be hosting a game on July 4 (with the opponent to be determined), continuing the tradition of "Football and Fireworks" in the Southland. The remainder of the 2006 schedule will be announced at a later date. Tickets to the 2006 home opener are only available by purchasing a Galaxy Holiday Pack. GALAXY AND KOHL'S TEAM UP FOR HOLIDAY ASSIST PROGRAM NEXT SUNDAY, DECEMBER 11: On Sunday, December 11, the Galaxy Foundation will be hosting its Sixth Annual Holiday Assist Program, sponsored by Kohl's Department Store. The Foundation has once again teamed up with Kohl's (Cerritos Towne Center location - 12821 Towne Center Drive) to host the event, which will feature a Holiday Shopping Spree for 100 local children in need. The event will take place from 7-9 am as Kohl's has generously allotted two hours of their store hours (prior to opening) to bring a smile to a lot of little faces. Additionally, the Foundation and Kohl's have partnered to give each child a $100 Kohl's gift card. GALAXY DEPORTIVO BREAKS DOWN ALL THE ACTION SATURDAY: Galaxy Deportivo, the weekly, half-hour Spanish language television show devoted to the Los Angeles Galaxy, will air again Saturday, December 10 on KWHY - Channel 22 at 3:30 pm. Galaxy Deportivo, hosted by Los Angeles area personality Elmer Polanco, can be seen at the same time each and every Saturday on Channel 22.

Did you know ... The Los Angeles Galaxy will play against Deportivo Saprissa (CRC), owned by Chivas USA co-owner Jorge Vergara, in the quarterfinals of the 2006 CONCACAF Champions Cup? The first leg will be played on Wednesday February 22 and the return leg will be at Estadio Saprissa on March 8.
